The slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, "A City Alive with History".

You might land on the Freedom Trail - Boston's renowned 3-mile walking tour that takes visitors past sixteen historic landmarks like Old North Church, Paul Revere's house, the Bunker Hill Monument, and the USS Constitution. A roll of the dice could take you on a shopping trip to Shreve, Crump & Low - a Boston landmark for nearly 200 years. Or you could land on the Public Garden where, in 1877, a ride on the Swan Boats was a five-cent fare.

If your token lands on the "T", welcome aboard Boston's subway, America's oldest and still one of the best. The subway opened along Boston Common in 1897 where the inaugural run in car #1752, an open-bench, four-wheeled trolley, traveled only six-tenths of a mile. Perhaps you'll land on Ye Olde Union Oyster House, America's oldest restaurant which serves the finest New England seafood exactly where Daniel Webster and other famous statesmen once dined.

Baseball, anyone? Land on the Boston Red Sox Square and root for one of the oldest professional baseball teams in the country. From the Bo Sox to the Brahmins, the history of Boston is celebrated in its music, literature, theatre and art. The elegant Museum of Fine Arts, the intriguing Museum of Science, and the majestic Wang Center are each represented on the board as just a few of the dozens of Boston's cultural institutions.

And, the Boston Edition takes you beyond the city's historical roots to the contemporary side of life. You could land on FAO Schwarz or Talbots or Legal Sea Foods. Or you could go to Cheers, "Where everyone knows your name!"
