Celebrating the Century Year of the Marathon

The race annually takes place in Kwa-Zulu Natal Province of South Africa between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The direction of the race alternates each year between the "Up" Run, starting from Durban and the "Down" Run starting from Pietermaritzburg.

The Centenary Comrades Marathon, being celebrated in 2021, is a "Down" Run. The spirit of the Comrades Marathon is said to be embodied by attributes of Camaraderie, Selflessness, Dedication, Perseverance, Ubuntu and to "Celebrate Man-kind’s spirit over adversity".

This is an exciting opportunity to extend the camaraderie, competition, and unique experience of marathon running into the home with Marathon Monopoly Boards. Bringing family and friends together for this fun and engaging version of the well known and loved Monopoly games. Usually a solo sport, now marathon runners can share the fun and excitement with their family and friends, for generations to come.

ABOUT THE GAME: Special Limited Centenary Edition; First ever Road Race Monopoly in the World; Custom board, properties, money and cards "Down" version of the world famous race; For properties, all the Comrades Marathon route landmarks were used.; For the most expensive properties the Down Run Course Records were use, Fastest Times by Foreign Runners and the record of 9 win records; Pietermaritzburg Start / Durban Finish; Travel Locations are 4 of the previous "Down" Run finish Venues in Durban; For the Traditional Tax locations we used 2 cut-off times on the "Down" Run Route; Comrades Marathon House and the Comrades Marathon Wall of Honour are used for the Traditional Utility properties; Chance and Community Chess cards feature as "Down" Run and "Up" Run.
