In celebration of Leeuwarden-Fryslân as the cultural capital of Europe, Leeuwarden and Friesland will have their own version of the most played board game in the world; Monopoly Leeuwarden-Fryslân.

Walk across the board through all eleven cities, go from Skûtsjesilen to the Elfstedentocht. From Fries Museum to Woudagemaal in Lemmer. Become owner of the Oldehove in Leeuwarden or Afsluitdijk Wadden Center. The well-known streets and squares from the municipality and province are incorporated into the game.

The most expensive property on the board is the Oldehove tower in Leeuwarden. Other properties players can obtain are the Wouda water pumping station in Lemmer, the Douwe Egberts company and the Skûtsjesilen sailing event.
