The University is well known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and is consistently one of the most popular among students applying for undergraduate courses. Leeds graduates occupy senior positions in all areas of the economy, government and the arts all over the world.
Leeds is a cosmopolitan city that is fast becoming a leading European financial and commercial centre. With 2.2 million people within a half-hour drive of the city centre, it has been called 'a European metropolis for the twenty-first century' by the Financial Times. The Virgin Alternative Guide to British Universities places Leeds high on its list as a student city. Our students like the city so much that many of them stay here to live after graduation.
