Classic Versions 1965 (AUSTRALIA)

1965

Edition: London edition - "White Box" - Registered Trade Mark - Parker Brothers Real Estate Trading Game Equipment

Publisher: Parker Bros.Inc./Edwards Dunlop & Co. Ltd. - ±1965

Dimensions of the box: 25 x 50 cm

This is again an interesting specimen of the third and most probably the last Monopoly edition made by Edwards Dunlop that was soon followed by Toltoys' version.

Features of this edition are:

This is the first Australian long, white box with the same design as of the editions of European and other countries with the new and more colorful appearance. The Waddingtons "locomotive illustration" on the lid has been replaced by the "board in a green in a blue square with red Monopoly bar" with Rich Uncle Pennybag's logo in a red square between 2 blue Parker engines there under.
This also is the first time the Parker whirl logo appearing on an Australian edition.
Although the board still has the London streets it is clearly a "transition" version of the Waddington design to that of Parker Brothers, shown by the UK engines going backwards but now without the green color while on the other hand Parker's blue treasure chest now stands for the Community Chest cards.
On the Income Tax space one can choose to PAY 10% or $200.
The Chance cards are pale dull pink through, the Community Chest cards are yellow. Both are illustrated with the funny Parker images.
The banknotes are printed in colour on white paper. The denominations are: 1 (black on white), 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500.
The translucent plastic houses and hotels have the same size and are hollow. They have a chimney and the roofs are tiled.
The ten tokens are in grey plastic.
The Rules say: "Questions on this game will be answered gladly if correct postage is enclosed."
Both dice (14 mm) are white with black pips.
1965/70

Edition: London edition - "White Box" - Standard - Toltoys Real Estate Trading Game Equipment

Publisher: Parker Bros./Toltoys - 1965/1970

Dimensions of the box: 26 x 51 cm

The Toltoys company also temporarely made the Monopoly games for Parker Brothers, starting with the last version of Edwards Dunlop.

The solid game board's back is light blue. The word Monopoly is in closed black characters on the board's midfield and is parallel to side one. On top is, in large blue, the name Toltoys.
The innerbox contains, except for a dark green, plastic insert with seven trays for the banknotes a red cardboard insert showing the word Monopoly (in white characters) and some of the tokens. The ten metal tokens are: shoe, canon, hat, rider-on-horse, wheelbarrow, boat, car, iron, thimble and dog. The light blue Chance and pink Community Chest cards have a repeating pattern of "engines and Uncle Pennybags" on their back.
The green houses and red hotels are of plastic.
Both dice are white with remarkable large figures.

This set of somewhat later date ( ±1970) shows the Parker whirl in the blue square of the lid.

1975

Edition: London edition - "White Box" - Standard - Toltoys Real Estate Trading Game Equipment

Publisher: Parker Bros./Toltoys - Mid 1970s

Dimensions of the box: 26 x 51 cm

During the mid 1970's Totltoys updated their version.

Other than an updated design I do not see many other differences.

Edition: London edition - "White Small Box" - Standard - Toltoys Real Estate Trading Game Equipment

Publisher: Parker Bros./Toltoys - Mid 1970s

Also about this time, Toltoys made a small box version folding the board in four.

There is no Parker Bros swirl on the box lid as there is on the long box.

1976

Edition: London edition - "White Box" - Standard - Toltoys Real Estate Trading Game Equipment

Publisher: Parker Bros./Toltoys - 1976

This is another version which does not have a specific date so it has been dated at 1976, the same year as the American version which looks the same.
