With so many different boards, there is no site on the internet which tries to place all the different ones together. This site is/will be where you can find all the different boards together. You will alos be able to see on some of the boards, photographs of the Monopoly properties in the real world. Photos of these places will be appreciated from anyone.
Also you will find up to date information on new official Monopoly games released all on one site and eventually a full list of all the official different released versions ever released worldwide. A lot of help has come from USAopoly, but I hope to get more help from Hasbro, and the other official producers like Winning Moves UK.
Want to know the history of Monopoly, then you can also find it here under the History Tab. Most of it is American based, but with some help from anyone who can, I would hope to be able to cover more parts of the world. My knowledge of the history is not great, so if you can help out, please Contact Me.
John Waddington started off as a theatrical printer in Leeds in 1896 and the firm began printing playing cards in 1921. Waddingtons had sent the card game Lexicon to Parker Brothers hoping to interest them in publishing the game in the United States. In a similar fashion, Parker Brothers sent over a copy of Monopoly to Waddingtons early in 1935 before the game had been put into production in the United States.
The standard British board, produced by Waddingtons, was for many years the version most familiar to people in countries in the Commonwealth (except Canada, where the U.S. edition with Atlantic City-area names was reprinted), although local variants of the board are now also found in several of these countries. In the cases wherein the game was produced under license by a national company, the £ (pound) was replaced by a $ (dollar) sign, but the place names were unchanged.
In the 1970s, the game became widely available in a standard, commercial version and also a very famous book by the name of Monopoly Book: Strategy and Tactics of the World's Most Popular Game was published by Maxine Brady.
In 1995, Winning Moves Games was founded by four game industry professionals including Philip Orbanes (formerly at Parker Brothers, and the leading expert on the game Monopoly). The company then forged a close relationship with the world's largest game company, Hasbro, Inc., owner of Parker Brothers and as a result, local editions (and some custom editions) of Monopoly in the United Kingdom continue to be made exclusively by Winning Moves Games.
The boards properties are all changed, but in relevant sections although the corner properties have to remain as the original.
Monopoly comes from the United States of America and the full history can be found in the History section of this website.
Parker Brothers bought Monopoly from Charles Darrow and it eventually went to Hasbro when they bought Parker Bros.
Since the early 1990s many licensed Monopoly games have been manufactured. Most notably among these is USAopoly. They have put out hundreds of different themed editions. From New York to Las Vegas and from M&Ms to Snoopy, USAopoly has done it all.
USAOPOLY began in 1994 with a great idea for a hometown spin on Monopoly. After getting permission from Hasbro, the first versions was of San Diego (near where they are based).
Followed was various other versions including other cities, States, Colleges, and then themes like MLB, NFL, The Simpsons, Harley Davidson, National Parks, etc. as well as special limited editions for companies like American Express, Renaissance Investments and ING Direct.
These days they release approximately a dozen different versions each year as well some reprints.
The boards properties are all changed, but in relevant sections although the corner properties have to remain as the original.
This section covers games made specifically for companies but not released to the general public. These usually consist of a minimum order and usually one print run. These games are hard for the collector to obtain a copy and especially sealed.
If you know of any more under this category and have photographs and information, then please contact me.
Also read an exclusive interview with Peter Griffin here with the Development Director of Winning Moves who has taken control of Custom Games at Winning Moves.
This section covers special editions made for sale to the general public based on various sports and sporting events around the world. Most are for general release worldwide or to the native country, though some were only available to the public in specific places.

Welcome to the history of the world´s most famous board game, Monopoly. This section of the site will try and chronicle all the editions (classic Atlantic City properties) produced by Charles Darrow and Parker Brothers (and even a few made before Darrow) made in the United States and then start to work on other countries.
My goal with this part of the site is to help document and date all the editions of Monopoly starting with the United States side. Other sites claim the history of Monopoly can be found anywhere. While many have tried, the true history and chronology of the Darrow and Parker Brothers games is on this site. This has been achieved through countless hours of research and the invaluable help of others. New discoveries are made daily. A few I would like to thank for their help, either directly or indirectly, are: Dan Fernandez, Phil Orbanes, Chris Williamson, David Sadowski, Brian Boles, Paul Edgecomb, and Cliff Bolling, Without the help of these individuals much of this information would not have been obtained.
Many of the photos on History side of World of Monopoly are courtesy of Dan Fernandez (www.sundown-farm-and-ranch.com) and are used with his kind permission. Other photos are courtesy Clifford Bolling (also used with permission), various ebay auctions, and, wherever possible, from my own collection.
I do not have every copy of Monopoly ever released, so this section can only be completed with your help. Please contact me if you can help.
