St. Mawes, the picturesque fishing village on the Roseland Oeninsular, has attracted teh same families for generations, there is a certain charm about this lovely place that once discovered cannot be forgotten.

Overlooking the stunning harbour and the Fal Estuary, St. Mawes is a yachtsman's paradisewith some of the finest waters for sailing in the U.K. St. Mawes Sailing Club and the Gig Club host regattas throughout the summer months, enjoyed by both members and visitors alike, to watch Falmouth Working Boats rounding the inner turning mark on a gusty days is a wonderful sight.

St. Mawes still retains the feel of a timeless fishing port with its white-washed storm-beaten cottages along the harbour front. To this day St. Mawes has a half dozen fishing boats in which local fishermen still earn a living.

For different members of the family, catching crabs in the harbour, exploring rock pools on Summers Beach at low tide, swimming out to the pontoon off Tavern Beach, enjoying a pasty form the bakery or a pint at The Rising Sun, taking a ferry trip across the bay to Place for a walk on the headland, are all part of life in St. Mawes.
